PTERYGIUM REMOVAL
What is pterygium removal surgery?
The surgery involves peeling back and excising the fleshy growth from the edge of the cornea. The defect is then covered by a conjunctival autograft which is generally taken from under the upper lid and secured to the eye surface with glue or fine sutures. It typically takes 45 minutes to perform the procedure meticulously.
