Cataracts

If you’ve been diagnosed with cataracts, you may wonder if cataract surgery is right around the corner. Not to worry. There are many preventive steps you can take to slow the progression of cataracts and preserve your vision. That doesn’t mean you won’t eventually need surgery, but you can at least delay the need for quite a while.

What is cataract?

Cataract is clouding of the natural lens in the eye. The condition is a natural change that occurs with time and typically affects people in the late 60s and beyond. It can also affects younger people. The haziness in lens causes blurred vision which causes difficulty in driving at night, reading street signs, difficulty in reading with or without readers, needing more light to read, haziness in overall vision, faded colors, etc.
